Our philosophy
The Grip Strength philosophy is based on the following beliefs:
A successful performance program prioritises activities that transfer most closely to the competition event.
The more ‘event like’ the training activities, the more transfer to competition will be achieved.
S&C programming for grappling is strictly general, and should aim to develop athletic qualities required to effectively participate in transferable training activities.
An effective S&C program should strive to compliment technical training and not impede it.
Mission statement
No athlete should be at a disadvantage purely due to the lack of quality support available to them. Our aim is to ensure all grappling athletes, regardless of level or location, have access to a service that promises to improve their athletic performance - designed to support and compliment all aspects of technical training and ensure maximum transfer to their overall grappling performance.
We will achieve this by providing a world class strength and conditioning service to our athletes - designed and implemented by coaches with a truly comprehensive understanding of fundamental strength and conditioning principles - delivered in line with Grip Strength S&C philosophy.
No one athlete is the same, and their programming should reflect this. As a result, every program we provide is catered for the needs of our athletes on a personal level - celebrating that what makes us different makes us unique.
We understand that time is precious when chasing improvement and are proud to be a trusted resource for grappling athletes everywhere who may have received conflicted, confusing and unsupported advice throughout their grappling journey. We strive to provide a credible, evidence based approach to strength and conditioning for grappling performance.
